Edward Solomon
Edward Solomon has sung in a number of choirs and vocal ensembles. He has
played trombone in numerous ensembles in the UK, France, Germany and Canada. He
studied the trombone with Maisie Ringham (principal trombone, Halle Orchestra,
1946-1955), and Ronald Bryans (bass trombone, London
Sinfonietta) at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
In 1989 he joined the BBC Elstree Concert Band shortly after its
inception and became a member of the British Trombone Society, in which
he took the newly create office of Webmaster in 1997. He played trombone with
the ensemble Slide Rule, while in Toronto (1999-2001) and helped to found an
Iraqi synagogue there, in 2000. He is currently bass trombonist in the Ernest
Read Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic at UH (Hatfield Philharmonic Orchestra)
and Finchley Chamber Orchestra. In 2002 he created Trombonanza, a trombone
choir, in which he plays bass and contrabass trombones. Edward also arranges
music for orchestra, wind band, brass ensemble and trombone ensembles for up to
16 trombones.
Edward has sung with Rivers of Babylon for a number of years, and combines
his love of music with his career as an IT consultant.
